Shoshana's Thesis Work

Returning to the Imagination
Cultivating the Creative Act for the Purpose of Fruitful Citizenry, Conflict Transformation and Humanization
This written work, accompanied by an ensemble based, cross disciplinary performance grew out of a childhood which emphasized artistic intelligence within a cultural experience. Being raised within the embrace of puppetry and theater throughout the world I was always conscious of a place within me that both the imagined and the actual exist simultaneously. My investigation into the potential of the creative act, the merging of the tangible and responsible imagination, offered tools for building spaces, which encourage the forging of healthy relationships, and the power to body forth action through the imagination. In our globalized world of growing complexity and interconnectedness, nurturing tools, which set forth generative relationships and a potential for expanded, integrated worldviews is necessary to give voice to the voiceless, rehumanize the dehumanized, and recreate a healthy living system on our globe.
